Exploring Formentera

I haven't driven a quad since I was about 10 on my nan's farm, I'n now sat on a small red one with the responsibility of getting myself and my friend around the island. The spanish rental guy who is trying to explain how to use it doesn't know any english, and I don't know the spanish for brake...

Formentera is a Small southern Balearic Island a 30 minute ferry ride from Ibiza Town, the ferry runs every half hour and comes complete with a cheesy safety video, if you're into that sort of thing. When you arrive the best way to reach anywhere on the Island is by renting a bike, quad or car. A quad allows you the freedom of a bike without the restrictions of a car, there's a few dirt tracks to explore and the quad turned out to be the best method of transport, our one friend hired a moped, it was a complete disaster, mostly because she couldn't hold it up, let alone drive it.
The day was spent roaming around the island, sometimes battling with huge lorries on highways but mostly exploring a dirt track to nowhere, literally, we had to turn around about five times because they all just came to a dead end. Despite this I saw some of the prettiest views and I'd definitely recommend a visit if you're in Ibiza wanting something a little bit different to do!
